NCLEX - RN / PN (National Council Licensure Examination for Registered and Practical Nurses)

The acronym and definition of NCLEX-RN is National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses while NCLEX-PN means National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses.

Both licensure nursing exam were administered by the board of NCSBN or National Council of State Boards of Nursing, a United States standard for administering examinations and licensing of nurses. In order to become a registered nurse in the US, you have to pass their standards accordingly and qualify to become one based on guidelines and rules set by the said administration.
